The World's oldest religion and the one of the largest by population (with over a billion followers worldwide), Hinduism has a complex belief structure that encompasses many religious ideas. Modern Hindus celebrate numerous sacred days holidays and festivals, the most well-known of which is Diwali.ย

What to Write in a Diwali Card

One of the most important and most popular celebrations in the Hindu calendar, Diwali (also known as Deepavali) means festival of lights and it celebrates triumph of light over darkness and good over evil. Observed over five days between mid-October and mid-November, Diwali brings people together for ritual and prayer, but also for shopping, decorating, sharing good food and letting off fireworks.

Whether or not you are a Hindu yourself, it is entirely appropriate for you to wish someone celebrating Diwali a happy time, especially if they are separated from family and friends.

Hereโ€™s our inspiration for your Diwali card:

โ€œMay happiness and love surround you this Diwaliโ€

โ€œSending blessings to you and your family this Diwaliโ€

"Wishing you a very Happy Diwali and a wonderful new yearโ€
